The HP Virtual Focus Group- Review 2

Here are a few pics of the photos I printed today. The ones on the left are the HP and the ones on the right are the Kodak.

A few notes I made while printing:

  • The HP takes longer to be ready to start printing when it is powered up.
  • The Kodak louder while printing.
  • When printing photos one right after the other, it takes the HP longer to be ready to print another picture.
  • When out of paper, the HP didn't notify me in any way at all. It just quit printing. The Kodak beeped and there was a pop up on the computer monitor saying it was out of paper.
It took me forever to figure out how to get the HP back to printing after inserting the paper. I could have been doing it wrong, but the only way I could get it to start back was to cancel the photos and go back and click print all over again. On the Kodak it was much easier. The display screen on the printer told me exactly what to do. Load paper and press OK. Took about 2 seconds compared to the 5 minutes I spent trying to figure out the HP. Also the HP printed a single line on a blank photo after I reloaded the paper, but then start back normally. The Kodak didn't print any blanks, it just went right back to printing normally.

I am liking the location of the display on the Kodak more than the HP.

Now onto the photo results...

The HP photos are better hands down. The colors are much richer. The Kodak photos seem washed out. Also the Kodak paper is very thin and flimsy. The HP is thick and sturdy.
