Stocking Tutorial

First you cut your fabric and interfacing in your desired stocking shape. 2 each. *Be sure u cut the fabric so the fabric you want to be on the front/back is facing the right direction, I made that mistake*
Photobucket
Then cut out your flap piece and its banding (for lack of better word)
* Just be sure that your material is turned the right way. the point faces down! I made a boo boo on the example one. Correct in the pic below*
Photobucket
Fold your banding so that it looks like bias tape. Then pin it on the flap.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Stitch the banding onto the flap. *Make sure its even on front and back so it will catch on both sides*
Photobucket
Photobucket
Fold the flap in half *right sides facing* and stitch up the side.
Photobucket
Next cut out the piece that will be your hanger.
Photobucket
Fold in half and half again. Then stitch.
Photobucket
Stack up your stocking pieces. Interfacing, fabric *right side up*, fabric *right side down*, interfacing. Like so.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Pin, stitch around
Photobucket
Trim
Photobucket
Turn right side out and make sure all seams caught.
Photobucket
Turn the body back inside out, pin the hanger onto the backside of your material. *The hanger should be pointed down *Then slip the flap over the body. Flap should be inside out too.
Photobucket
You can see the hanger here. between the body and the flap pointed down.
Photobucket
Pin and stitch around the top edge. Turn.
Photobucket
Fold over and topstitch around the top edge.
